Earth Day 2012 (April 26) was a great day at Wilbur/McMahon Schools! Students, teachers, parents, staff and administrators pitched in and cleaned, weeded, planted, recycled, made, buried, composted, birded, played, helped, moved and helped our planet in many ways. We recycled plastic ‘clamshell’ containers into miniature herb gardens. We planted vegetables in milk cartons to be taken home. We recycled crayons and planted plants and trees. I organized the event and EVERYONE pitched in! The Sogkonate Garden Club donated bags and gloves and the Middletown Home Depot donated plants and soil and seeds (picture below.) The weather cooperated as students helped move lumber for the new Dundery Brook Trail near the school. Check out the pictures!
